Rhapsody 2013 is a perfect shot of the Croatian winery Tonković from Subotica.

Kadarka is an old Central European and Eastern European black variety that dominated Slavonia and Vojvodina until the 1950s. It is challenging to grow kadarka because it is susceptible to diseases, and as someone who only thought he understood himself to be a top wine in Slavonia brought Pinot Noir, kadarka has almost disappeared. In the entire Pannonian basin, it was held only in Hungary.

The Tonković-Reljanović family decided to renew this potentially classic variety, so they hired several doctors of enology, a brilliant winemaker from Rioja (because they noticed that kadarka sometimes behaves like tempranillo), so they decided to age the wines as long as it takes to enter the market. Optimal condition. We wrote about the first vintages of the Tonković Winery cadres received several Decanter awards and medals: the Tonković cadres also won seats in the wine shop and restaurant of the new Bordeaux Wine Museum, as well as a position on the wine lists of some Parisian restaurants and bars. And all with the first, still unfinished harvests. Therefore, we welcomed the new Tonković staff with great interest, who import Dobra vina into Croatia.
